Set a believable brief with a specific output
Create an original fictional brand or clearly state that the assignment is a self-initiated concept. Choose a narrow problem, such as an editorial launch image for a proposed design journal. A precise audience and placement make the project easier to evaluate.
Describe constraints that affected the work: space for a title, an image that survives a narrow crop, or a controlled material palette. Constraints give the viewer evidence of decisions beyond choosing an attractive result.
Show the reasoning that the images cannot explain
Present the brief, a small selection of directions, the chosen concept in context, and a concise production note. Explain why you selected it and what you rejected. Do not imply that a rendered mockup proves a product was manufactured or a website launched.
| Item | State clearly | Avoid implying |
|---|---|---|
| Project status | Self-initiated or commissioned, as applicable | A client relationship that did not occur |
| Your contribution | Briefing, generation, selection, design, or finishing | Work performed by someone else |
| Shown result | Concept, mockup, or published artifact | A launch or production run without evidence |
| Business outcome | Verified result, or not measured | Invented revenue, traffic, or awards |
Separate the image source from the finished presentation
Use an appropriate design tool for accurate typography and portfolio layouts. Keep the original PNG and production files so you can explain the process. If the artwork contains a concept object rather than a real product, label that distinction in the presentation.
THE RENDER OFFICE can supply new image concepts from a written brief. It does not create the entire editable portfolio case study or maintain the project archive. Those parts remain in your own design and file workflow.
Connect the project to an appropriate service
Close with the kind of assignment you can support, such as early campaign art direction. Make the scope consistent with what the project demonstrates. A single abstract image is limited evidence for claims about full ecommerce production or exact product retouching.
If the project later becomes commissioned or published, update its status with the actual evidence. Keep hypothetical budgets and proposals labeled as such. Clear context makes the portfolio more useful to a buyer assessing your judgment and the fit of your service.
