Compare the published monthly allowances
The membership enables access to the studio within the selected plan's monthly image limit. Your own OpenAI API account pays the separate generation usage charges. The allowance is a cap on using this interface, not prepaid API credits and not a promise of approved campaign assets.
The table lists the advertised monthly plans in USD. Keep applicable checkout charges and the renewal terms in the buying decision. Unused allowance does not reduce the advertised monthly membership fee.
| Plan | Monthly membership | Studio image limit |
|---|---|---|
| Creator | 490 USD | 120 images per month |
| Agency | 1490 USD | 500 images per month |
| Production | 4900 USD | 2000 images per month |
Estimate attempts from a real workload
List the projects expected during the month, the visual questions in each project, and an initial attempt budget. Include planned revisions and exploration that may be rejected. Use your own previous sessions when available; do not assume one generation request equals one accepted image.
For illustration, ten assignments with a proposed ceiling of twelve counted images each would use 120 images. That leaves no spare capacity within the published Creator limit. It is an arithmetic scenario, not a prediction that twelve attempts will solve each assignment. A smaller workload may leave substantial unused allowance while still carrying the full monthly fee.
Check the monthly counter and renewal separately
The current studio counts image usage by UTC calendar month. The subscription renewal follows its billing schedule. Those are separate dates, so a renewal date should not be treated as the reset date for the studio counter. Check the displayed account status and remaining usage before scheduling a session near a month boundary.
A higher plan should solve a capacity need you actually have. Do not treat unused capacity as a saving or assume that paying more removes the need for a usable API key. Generation still requires ChatGPT sign-in, an active membership, and access through your own API account.
Do not use a plan upgrade to solve a missing capability
The current studio is a text-to-image workflow. It does not offer reference-photo uploads, a regional editor, native SVG export, saved-project history, or a shared approval workspace. A larger image allowance does not add those capabilities.
If the brief requires preserving an exact uploaded product photo or delivering editable vector artwork, choose a suitable production workflow before selecting a membership. If the task is new concept exploration and the visible controls fit, compare the expected value of that interface with the entire recurring cost.
Review the plan after a documented month
Record actual counted images, accepted concepts, API spend, review time, and finishing work. Compare the record with the estimate that informed the purchase. A busy month of rejected candidates can consume capacity without producing the result the team needed.
Use that evidence to decide whether the current plan remains appropriate, whether the brief process needs improvement, or whether another tool better fits the work. The right membership is one whose cost and capabilities make sense for your assignments; the largest plan is not automatically the most useful.
Check the full cost against your next brief.
Review the current membership prices and requirements before choosing a plan. Membership renews monthly until canceled, and OpenAI API usage is charged separately.
