Select candidates that represent different decisions
Do not fill the sheet with every attempt. Choose a small set that shows meaningful alternatives in composition, light, or visual message. Remove obviously unsuitable outputs unless one is needed to explain a specific limitation.
For a fictional campaign header, candidates might differ in subject placement or material atmosphere. Keep the actual brief visible so a reviewer does not choose only the most dramatic image in isolation.
Use consistent presentation rules
Show candidates at a comparable scale and include the intended crop where it matters. Add a short identifier that remains stable through the discussion. A reviewer should be able to refer to a file without relying on its position in a changing grid.
| Element | Include | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Candidate ID | A stable file-linked name | Avoid ambiguous feedback |
| Preview | Comparable scale and relevant crop | Support a fair visual comparison |
| Direction note | The meaningful difference being tested | Connect the image to a decision |
| Status | Selected, revise, hold, or reject | Preserve the outcome of the review |
Review the selection in its real placement
A contact-sheet thumbnail is not a final approval view. Put the leading candidate into the actual header, email, or presentation layout and inspect relevant details at full size.
Separate a direction preference from approval for publication. The team may like the atmosphere while accurate product integration, text, and exports remain unfinished. Record those tasks next to the selection.
Keep the decision connected to the source
Store the sheet, selected PNG, prompt, and review note together in your own project folder. THE RENDER OFFICE does not create a contact-sheet document or preserve a shared candidate archive. Save results before they are replaced in the studio.
After the review, deliver the chosen direction and a concise reason. Avoid keeping multiple files labeled final without a clear status. The contact sheet should reduce uncertainty about the decision, not become another gallery with no owner.
